Maintenance of Outdoor Lighting & Electronics

Regular maintenance extends the lifespan of your electronic devices and preserves their performance.

🧹 Cleaning

  • Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid water on connectors and USB ports.
  • Clean battery contacts with a dry cotton swab if oxidation is visible.
  • For waterproof lights: rinse with fresh water after exposure to saltwater.

🔋 Battery Maintenance

  • Recharge regularly: do not let a battery discharge completely.
  • For long-term storage: keep at 50% charge in a cool place (10-20°C).
  • 18650 Lithium Battery: lifespan of 300 to 500 charge cycles.
  • Avoid charging in very cold weather (below 0°C).

💧 Waterproofing

  • Regularly check the seals of lights and watches (IP67, IPX4).
  • Lubricate seals with silicone grease if necessary.
  • Never force open a battery compartment cover.

📦 Storage

  • Remove batteries for long-term storage (prevents leaks).
  • Store in a dry place, at room temperature, away from heat and frost.
  • Keep protective cases to prevent shocks.

⏳ Lifespan and Signs of Wear

  • Battery that no longer holds a charge = replacement needed.
  • LED that flickers or loses intensity = end of LED life or low battery.
  • Average lifespan: 3 to 8 years depending on use and battery maintenance.
